Phaedra Corrigan

I am an Architect and multi-disciplinary designer.  I have 20 years experience of telling stories in spaces.

I qualified as an architect from UCL and the University of Westminster. My career began at Richard Rogers Partnership working on a series of landmark projects including Madrid Airport and Heathrow Terminal 5.

For that last 5 years I have held the position as Associate Creative director at Event Communications. I lead teams working on high profile and critically acclaimed projects including the Burrell Collection in Glasgow, the New Hans Christian Andersen Museum in Odense, and the Hong Kong Museum of History.

My Education at the Bartlett, together with my work on projects have enabled me to create a well-defined process for analysing complex objectives and constraints and distilling them into accessible narrative environments.

The rigorous process of careful listening, collecting, learning and distilling, establishes an exacting and solid vision from which every layer of the project grows.

This alongside a strong aesthetic sensibility , ensures that projects are beautiful, well crafted, imaginative in their form and materiality and aligned with the vision.

My preferred, proven, style of leadership develops strong enduring relationships with clients, colleagues and contractors. I nurture consensus within the design team. This style of leadership, whilst presenting some challenges, allows a greater level of team contribution. The outcomes are always greater than the sum of our individual parts.

I believe passionately in what I do. I believe in the power of architecture and design to encourage and develop perception, imagination and understanding. I believe in my skills to engage audiences and to tell stories. Stories that excite, stimulate and educate.
